Frequently Asked Questions
Where are we located?
Our private classroom and range is located at 2176 County Road 2208, Troy, AL 36081.
We can be found on Google Maps @ Troy Guardian Training
Are there any pre-requisites for taking your classes?
No, but we do prefer students who attend courses titled intermediate or advanced have prior formalized training. All students should be well versed in the safe/proper function and manipulation of their firearm and all related support equipment. If you have never had any formalized training we suggest you take one of our basic courses prior to taking intermediate or advanced courses. If you haven’t had training in years we believe the basic courses would be a great idea too. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
What do I need to bring to a class?
Aside from the equipment lists that are provided for each class you should bring a folding camp chair, a bag lunch, snacks and drinks. We will have a water cooler and cups, coolers to keep drinks in and a Porta-Potty at the range.
What should I wear to class?
If you are in a class that will be shooting on the range wear clothing you do not mind getting dirty. Also NO open toed shoes. NO loose fitting or low cut tops. Baseball style cap’s are encouraged but not required.
Will ammunition be available to be purchased for the class?
No, because of the unique situations of an ammunition shortage at the end of 2020 and no foreseeable relief in sight we can no longer provide ammo for classes.
What if I do not have a gun?
We can provide a firearm and all related support equipment for you to take classes. There will be a reasonable rental fee for the use of the firearm and equipment. Please contact us for rental availability and pricing.
Can I use steel caseD ammunition?
Yes-but we do not suggest it. Contact us if you need to know why.
